Jennifer (Jenny) Lee is a Senior Associate at The Scowcroft Group where she provides analysis to corporate clients and financial institutions, covering East Asia, Latin America, resources and the energy transition, and export controls. She has written for The Diplomat, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute's (ASPI's) The Strategist, the Center for a New American Security, and the Atlantic Council, among others.
Previously, she served as the Media Editor for The SAIS Review of International Affairs and conducted research on climate change policy at the Council on Foreign Relations. She also worked as a Research and Program Assistant for the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Women Lead program and as a Research Assistant in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She was also a 2022-2023 Women Leaders in Energy and Climate Fellow at the Atlantic Council and a finalist in the Center for a New American Security's 2023 The Pitch competition.
Jenny graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies with an MA in China Studies and International Economics and a minor in Energy, Resources, and the Environment. While at SAIS, she earned a Class of 2022 William C. Foster award for leadership and distinguished service, the James and Margaret Loe Fellowship in China Studies, and the Richard and Lauren Nijkerk Fellowship. She also was awarded a Gender and Racial Justice Scholars research grant from Johns Hopkins University. She received her BA in Biology from Washington and Lee University with minors in Poverty & Human Capability Studies and in Art History.
