GENERAL SCOWCROFT RECEIVES EWALD-VON-KLEIST AWARD AT 2013 MUNICH SECURITY CONFERENCE

The Scowcroft Group is pleased to announce that General Brent Scowcroft was presented with the Ewald-von-Kleist Award at 2013 Munich Security Conference. The award is intended to honor leading figures of foreign and security policy who have demonstrated a commitment to conflict management. Previous recipients of the Ewald-von-Kleist award include Henry Kissinger, Javier Solana and Joseph R. Lieberman.

In his capacity as National Security Advisor to President George H.W. Bush General Scowcroft was one of the main architects of German unification after the fall of the Berlin Wall. "I am pleased to honor Brent Scowcroft as one of the most important members of President Bush's team who contributed significantly to ending the Cold War and finding a peaceful way of achieving German unification," said Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference.
